The South Carolina City and County Management Association supports the next generation of local government leaders through its scholarship program for current MPA students interested in pursuing a career in local government. These scholarships are endowed in memory of Max Holland and Mitch Sizemore, long-time city managers and proponents of public administration.

The next round of SCCCMA scholarships will be awarded in Fall 2026. Additional details regarding the application period and deadlines will be posted on this page when available.

Each scholarship is for $2,500 and is intended to advance the educational opportunities for students interested in or currently pursuing careers in local government and administration.  In addition to the monetary award, scholarship recipients are invited to SCCCMA's Winter Meeting on behalf of the Association.

The Scholarship Committee is comprised of the following members:

Deron McCormick, Chair, City of Sumter

Missy Caughman, City of Columbia

Angela Christian, Georgetown County

Ed Driggers, City of Greer
Andrew Fulghum, Jasper County
Shaun Greenwood, City of Forest Acres
